Character Information
Character Name and server: fedwin - terenas

Professions and why you chose them:

natael - mage - terenas
joar - druid - terenas
elyane - pally - terenas
mordath - dk - azuremyst

Additional Questions

1) Have you read and do you agree with the Escape Mission Statement? Do you have any comments about it? - i have read it and agree with it's message

2) We raid Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday 7-11 Server time(MST). Are you available for the full duration of each raid night on a regular basis? Please tell us about exceptions. - available for all listed raid times; no forseeable exceptions

3) Do you know any members of Escape? - no

4)What is your most recent guild and why are you leaving? What other guilds have you raided with in the past? Please list the content you experienced with those guilds and explain your reasons for leaving them.
<Offtime> - technicaly my warrior is an alt, my mage is my main/first 80.
(more details in the last question, don't want to repeat myself)

5) What is your current progression in ICC, 10 and 25?
mage: 10/12 25 heroic ICC complete
warrior: 12/12 10 man - 4/12 25 (never been in a good enough pug)

6) We require our members to have a boss mod with chat bubbles enabled. What boss mod and other add-ons do you use?
dbm
omen
pitbull
recount (turned *off* during combat)
bartender
forte xorcist

7) Do you have Ventrillo installed on your computer? Do you currently own a working microphone? - yes and yes

8) What resources/websites do you use to prepare for new bosses? What resources/websites do you use to continue learning about your class?
new bosses - i either participate on the PTR myself or browse youtube for new boss videos. current bosses i will typicly watch many youtube videos to see different strategies and possibly bring some fresh ideas into the raid
learning about my class - honestly, i've tried to go with common sense. spec'ing/gemming/enchanting isn't too complicated when a couple minutes is taken to think things through. if i am lacking then i will happily go to elitest jerks and read the latest theorycrafting. in the past i have also browsed world top guild's forums to get some new ideas as well. (intelligent conversation with members of the same class never hurts either)

9) Please post a link to the logs of a recent raid if you have one. If you are transferring servers, this is required. Our members can tell you how to set it up if it would help. - i do not have one, i do typicly remain competitive amongst the top dps/damage though.

10) All raiders are required to provide appropriate consumables to maximize their role including flasks, elixirs, potions, reagents, food, and glyphs as needed. Though repairs are paid for mains, Try-outs and Candidates pay their own repairs. Are you willing and able to provide your toon with these required items? - i have a fat war chest, maxed out chef and a pocket alchemist/inscriptionish

11) We maintain a rotating Sit Out list used as required. Please review the Sit-Out Policy. Would you have any issues in abiding by it? - i never have any problem sitting out, that's what farmville is for ;)

12) Why do you want to join Escape? How were you referred to our guild?
ever since ulduar i have been in a top 3 (on server) guild. while i do not know terenas' rankings (different sites have different numbers) i do know that escape is amongst the top rungs of the ladder for heroic icc kills. your raid times fit in perfectly that i would not genereate too much wife aggro ;) (even though she plays i get yelled at from time to time when i don't go to bed with her). in a nutshell, i want to raid more and i feel escape would provide me an opprutunity to get that fix and you an opprutunity to pick up a dedicated and skillfull (not trying to run an ego, promise!) player

13) Is there anything else you want us to know?
having been playing my mage heavily since ulduar and now being active on cata beta i am almost 'burnt out' (no pun intended) on playing him. i have been cutting back on my morning raiding with offtime but am still wanting to be raiding. one thing i know for sure is that my gear is most likely barely on par with current content. my helm does not currently have an enchant (which i just noticed as i was reviewing things) and i really should try to find cat's swiftness for my boots. the helm i am not planning on keeping much longer as i will very shortly have enough emblems to get the tier piece. anyhow, i could babble on and on about what i could and should do but talk shears no sheep. with confidence i can say that given an opprutunity i would not disappiont.

Hi Fedwin,

I have some questions for you regarding your application:

1) You mentioned that you're a little "burnt out" playing the mage. Are you getting burnt out playing the "game" OR ONLY the mage class?

2) Would you be planning on raiding with both Offtime and Escape should the tryout vote for the warrior pass?

3) Given that your mage is currently your main and your warrior is an alt, how will their DPS compare in a 25H ICC raiding environment? Both Offtime and Escape are 10/12 for 25H ICC, so I'm sure you understand the DPS requirements necessary for the encounters.

4) Do you feel that your warrior is 25H ICC ready? If not, what steps can you take (i.e. gear-wise, enchants, etc...) to get him more up to par as a raider.

I commend you for for being forthright with us regarding your warrior (alt) versus your mage (main). I hope you can understand our perspective of trying to evaluate an application for an alt toon to run with our raid mains.

IMHO, and this is just my opinion alone, I feel that you can certainly make your warrior (alt) MUCH MORE ICC ready to be a fury warrior without even stepping foot in ICC (and possibly even before you submitted your application).

While I support the idea that skill > gear, it leaves some things to be desired if available upgrades from non-raids are not utilized. It appears that you have a multitude of alts and have sufficient resources to immediately upgrade your warrior's gear (i.e. crafted items) if you are truly contemplating a raid main switch to the warrior. The difficult proposition that our recruitment officers face is deciding whether or not to give someone's alt a tryout without know your future plans in game.

TBH, this application process should not be a quid pro quo with us. If you are truly serious about RM switching to the warrior, I feel that you can take steps upfront to get him more ready for 25H ICC. The process of getting your warrior's gear more ready for progression content should be independent of our decision on application.

It would also not be fair to us to give your warrior (alt) a tryout, get him some gear and then have you decide that you actually still want your mage as a main. I don't think any raiding guild would be interested in gearing someone's alt.

I look forward to hearing back from you regarding my questions and our concerns.

Best of luck to you.

only the mage class. i love the game, i love raiding

2) Would you be planning on raiding with both Offtime and Escape should the tryout vote for the warrior pass?
honest answer to that is yes, but i am greatly cutting down mage raid time

3) Given that your mage is currently your main and your warrior is an alt, how will their DPS compare in a 25H ICC raiding environment? Both Offtime and Escape are 10/12 for 25H ICC, so I'm sure you understand the DPS requirements necessary for the encounters.
well, naturaly my dps will be lower given lesser gear, but i feel confident that i will be maximizing my dps for my gear level

4) Do you feel that your warrior is 25H ICC ready? If not, what steps can you take (i.e. gear-wise, enchants, etc...) to get him more up to par as a raider.
there are steps i can make to get him more prepared. i am in position to obtain another tier piece of gear and at very least one ICC crafted piece. gems and enchants would be brought up to date as well.

I commend you for for being forthright with us regarding your warrior (alt) versus your mage (main). I hope you can understand our perspective of trying to evaluate an application for an alt toon to run with our raid mains. i understand 100%

i completley agree with you. the reason it was not done before the application is because the necessary improvments are a reasonable investment that (frankly) if i have absolutely 0% chance of making it then that is gold that can be saved for other ventures

It would also not be fair to us to give your warrior (alt) a tryout, get him some gear and then have you decide that you actually still want your mage as a main. I don't think any raiding guild would be interested in gearing someone's alt.

having been in "progression" raiding guilds i completley understand your point of view there. i'm positive both you and i have seen the person join then 3 weeks later 'k thanks for the lewts bai!' and i hate it just as much as every other good raider (someone just got a heroic DFO in our guild and server transfered at the end of the week). as far as having more than one full time raiding toon, it is something i am not unfamiliar with. several member in offtime have horde members or toons on other servers that they raid with at night (or morning for them), they do not necessarily have a main, are equaly skilled with the different classes. being blunt, my mage will probably always me my "main" toon. i plan on him being my first 85, but this does not mean that any less effort will be put into my warrior.

back in the day, Mortal Kombat II, i was the kid that could obliterate anyone with 9/10 of the characters and a fatality every time :) scorpion was always my goto guy but i took on everyone with anyone. i feel that i can perform with my warrior as good as i can with my mage. given the chance you will get 110% from me, i am more than willing to make the necessary investments for a shot at a raid spot

I look forward to hearing back from you regarding my questions and our concerns.

Best of luck to you.

My next question to you...

If you are given a tryout, what change(s) in gear, spec or enchants would you make on your toon PRIOR to be invited on your first raid as a tryout?

*if* i was given a tryout, this is what would be changed before raid time (time permitting ... if it's tonight i'll get as much done as i can)

helm enchanted
chest enchanted (lol, just noticed it wasn't now)
extra socket and arp gem to bracer
frost emblem belt socked and gemmed
crafted pants with leg armor and gems

i went over my spec again and everything seems up to speed, i am open to suggestions though if someone sees something that i have not
