Personal Information
Age (or, if you prefer, are you over the age of 18?): 23
Gender: Male
Location and Timezone: Baltimore, MD (EST)
Real Life profession (if any): Graduate Student

Character Information
Character Name and server: Deadlift - Terenas (horde)
Class/Spec: Rogue - Combat (offspec mutilate is also viable - 264+ average)
Armory Link (Please be sure you log out in PvE gear continually during your application process):
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-shee ... n=Deadlift
Professions and why you chose them: LW/Alchemy - I like the options LW gives me for adding quick resistances and alchemy was good for the time when I wasn't able to farm mats very reliably. I am more than willing to switch to engineering/JC if you think that is really that big a deal.
Alts you currently play (Name, Class, Realm): I goof around on Diegito, my lvl 58 druid.

Additional Questions

1) Have you read and do you agree with the Escape Mission Statement? Do you have any comments about it?
Yes

2) We raid Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday 7-11 Server time(MST). Are you available for the full duration of each raid night on a regular basis? Please tell us about exceptions.
Yes

3) Do you know any members of Escape?
No

4)What is your most recent guild and why are you leaving? What other guilds have you raided with in the past? Please list the content you experienced with those guilds and explain your reasons for leaving them.
Completely Different - Was the most viable horde side guild on Terenas. We lost two officers in the past week, as well as a number of our raid core. Quite honestly, it doesn't look like the guild will survive.

Before CD I was in Bed Bath and Beyond on Kil'Jaeden until right before TOGC dropped. I left BBB due to the guild leader being under 18.

5) What is your current progression in ICC, 10 and 25?
ICC 25 HM - 9/12
ICC 10 HMM - 8/12 (I would be 11/12 but school prevented me from being present for 10 man raids for a while. I have seen putricide/sind/and LDW extensively on 10)

6) We require our members to have a boss mod with chat bubbles enabled. What boss mod and other add-ons do you use?
Power Auras - Helps me manage debuffs quickly and avoid tunnel vision.
DXE - standard boss mod
DXE voice addon - adds a voice over to DXE warnings to help simplify some of the more complicated mechanics (putricides 10000 different possible moves in p2 being an example)
Drathor's HUD - Displays my buffs and debuffs in a centrally located position so that I can keep my attention on my feet and the environment.
Spartan UI - keeps things clean
Sexy Cooldown - use it to keep an eye on trinket cooldowns so that I can time them with lust/ability cooldowns.
TrickOrTreat - makes trixing rogues or tanks more reliable as well as gives me a heads up when I am given trix so that I can time cooldowns (Killing spree generally)
Omen - pulling threat is bad.
Skada - I don't run the damage done version since i find meters to be distracting and counter-productive (I don't give a shit if you did 14k damage but happened to take more heals than the offtank). Generally use it to look at deaths and debuff uptimes.

7) Do you have Ventrillo installed on your computer? Do you currently own a working microphone?
Yes and Yes

8) What resources/websites do you use to prepare for new bosses? What resources/websites do you use to continue learning about your class?
Tankspot, wow wiki to read up. Generally to get a feel for a boss fight I will either use the PTRs (and write class-specific notes) or I will watch the encounters on youtube from a rogue's perspective.
Generally I will reference elitistjerks to stay up to date on rogue mechanics. However, at this point in Wrath, and the relative ease of rogue mechanics (our damage is what, 80% passive?), I generally refer to a spreadsheet to determine upgrades/rotation/gemming.

9) Please post a link to the logs of a recent raid if you have one. If you are transferring servers, this is required. Our members can tell you how to set it up if it would help.
Due to just getting married as well as guild drama the best log I can give you is from May. However, given that the icecrown buff is significantly larger now, I hope you will adjust my numbers accordingly.
http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/x9kz ... amageDone/
also feel free to look through any of CD's logs at:
http://www.worldoflogs.com/guilds/5427/

10) All raiders are required to provide appropriate consumables to maximize their role including flasks, elixirs, potions, reagents, food, and glyphs as needed. Though repairs are paid for mains, Try-outs and Candidates pay their own repairs. Are you willing and able to provide your toon with these required items?
Not an issue

11) We maintain a rotating Sit Out list used as required. Please review the Sit-Out Policy. Would you have any issues in abiding by it?
Nope

12) Why do you want to join Escape? How were you referred to our guild?
Just perusing the talent, via your logs, as well as your progression and schedule, I feel that we could be a good fit.

13) Is there anything else you want us to know?
Go Steelers.

Thank you for taking the time to app. Sorry to hear CD is having difficulties.

Looking through the logs that you provided I only saw your name a few times in the past month and a half. Have you had attendance issues in the past? Also, just for my own curiosities sake, which race would you choose and why if you were to transfer?

Can you also explain your gemming? You have a mix of ArP/Agi/haste/AP with the majority leaning toward ArP. If ArP is the stat you're gemming for most, why don't you gem straight ArP with the exception of a gem or two to fulfill your meta requirement?

The last month and a half of attendence issues have been due to two things. 1: I broke my hamate bone in a baseball game which, thanks to hospital visits/vicodin/rehab, caused me to miss the last couple weeks. 2. I just got married so I was forced to miss due to practice dinners/hosting family/and honeymoons. I have never previously had an attendence issue and I believe should you delve further back into the WoL you will see that I was in almost every single 25 man spanning January - May.

As for which race I will be, Deadlift (then known as Sthenelus) was originally rolled as an alliance human. I believe if I were to faction change I would be forced to go back to human, which is fine considering the snare break - not sure where I would use it considering that Put HM doesn't have a snake phase. The expertise would be nice for sure. Now if I were given the choice of which faction to be, I would probably be strongly tempted to change to dwarf simply for the aesthetics (obviously willing to negotiate on that) and for the stoneform buff given its utility on a number of the fights in ICC.

TL;DR. Should you accept me I can guarantee that there will be no attendence issues from this human rogue.

Absolutely. Until recently I had sort of held onto the idea that I could create two sets of gear - one for mutilate and one for combat. As I proceeded to try to accomplish this, gear scarcity become, of course an issue, and I was forced to make some compromises on pieces that would be included in both my mut and combat set (ring/helmet). I can assure you that while I should be fully gemming ARP, the dps loss for me not at the current moment is minimal (on the order of 15 theoretical dps - happy to provide my SS should you want to see for yourself). However, as I've progressed further into ICC HM its become abundantly clear that combat is vastly superior to mutilate on a number of fights due to the fact that it is equipped to handle some of the hairier burn mechanics in the hardmodes (HM put transitions, HM LDW adds, snares on HM Saurfang beasts, plain better on LDW and Sind). Due to this revelation, I have begun to due a full swap over to my combat set, the few remaining hold-outs you see (again my helmet and ring) only exist due to my reluctance to fully cripple my mutilate set (Mut still has some bonuses on fights like LK HM due to its inherent speed buff - although combat on LK 25 HM shines because a dropped rogue can KS the valkryie and be transported back onto the platform). If i were to be accepted, one of my first orders of business would be to remedy this asap.

Also, for my gloves and other places where I have matched the socket bonus rather than gem straight ArP I have done so because the net value of the bonus plus the gems outweights, at this moment, gemming straight ArP.

Thank you for your quick answers. We're discussing your app and should have a decision for you today. Given that faction transfers involve paying real money out of pocket we exercise a little more caution with apps under those circumstances.

We want to make sure that you're fully aware that, should you be given a tryout, there is no guarantee that you'll eventually become a raid main. If you're skilled, which logs indicate and you have a good attitude there should be no problems.

Deadlift, your tryout vote was a success pending your understanding that we cannot guarantee you a spot and it will be dependant upon your performance and attitude. If you're positive that you can meet our "A player, A person" according to our guild charter then you can transfer over and we can get you in as early as tomorrow for a tryout.

Thank you for the quick response on this app. I like what I see but will sleep on this tonight and give you an answer in the morning.

No problem at all. One thing I'd like to clarify is that we are willing to pick up another rogue. The only reason we say that we cannot guarantee a spot is so that people don't have a pre-conceived notion that their transfer guarantees a raid spot. Your performance or attitude would have to be lacking in order for it to come to that, but some transfers have not worked out in the past, that's why we make sure that's understood.
